More than 80 major mining industry and government leaders from India and beyond attended the inaugural Mining Investment India (www.mininginvestmentindia.com) Conference, held at Sheraton New Delhi from 24-25 July. Mining Investment India is part of the global Mining Investment Conferences which aim to connect miners, government officials, investors and service providers for new business opportunities. This strategic conference is Asia’s first Mining Investment Conference to be held outside Singapore, where the conference series began with Mining Investment Asia in 2015.
With more than 12 distinguished speakers from India and Africa, including keynote address by Member of Parliament Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the audience engaged in insightful panel discussions and Q&A on various topics including:
• current state and future of the Indian mining industry;
• usage of innovative technology for sustainable and productive mining; and
• synergies between African and Indian mining industries as well as trends in African mining.
Presentations were made by Mesco Steel, Tata Steel, Federation of Mining Associations of Rajasthan, Destiny Mineral & Agricultural Consultants, Imerys Ceramics, Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research and AKS University.
Feedback from the attendees was positive with the right profile of senior level management from the whole mining industry spectrum represented, which resulted in enthusiastic and insightful discussions throughout the 2 days.
Mining Investment India will return to New Delhi next year from 25-26 July and will build on the foundations from this launch to attract more global investments and interest into the Indian mining industry.
